Small Universe

I inhabit a very

small universe. It extends

just beyond the tip of my nose

to my fingertips, which can

often be found in a bowl

of warm, sudsy water or

hanging children’s clothes.

Over the years we’ve

moved, and so, heartstrings

stretch

to Europe

and Asia

Africa

Australia.

I sweep my porch, while

a thrush

bounces in a bush.

On a clear night I get lost

in the Milky Way.
